INDOSPORT.COM - Penjaga gawang Timnas sepak bola Malaysia U-16, Sikh Izhan Nazrel Sikh Azman, sebelumnya mengaku tidak takut menghadapi Jepang di Piala Asia U-16 2018 pada 26 September mendatang.
Dilansir dari portal berita olahraga, Berita Harian, Izhan menegaskan dia tidak takut dengan reputasi Jepang meski laga terakhir antara Malaysia dengan negeri Sakura itu berakhir dengan kekalahan memilukan 0-4.
"Saya tidak perlu bimbang. Kami cuma harus bermain seperti biasa dan mempertahankan permainan kami selain coba mengelak daripada melakukan kesalahan," ucap Izhan kala itu.
Namun, sebelum laga antara Malaysia U-16 vs Jepang U-16 di Piala Asia bergulir, Izman telah 'melarikan diri' dengan mendapat kartu merah di pertandingan melawan Tajikistan, Rabu (20/09/18) sore tadi.
Meskipun Malaysia menang dengan skor meyakinkan 6-2, Izhan tetap harus menunduk malu karena mendapatkan kartu merah pasca melakukan tendangan 'kungfu' ke pemain Tajikistan.
Akibat dari aksinya tersebut, Izhan pun langsung mendapatkan kartu merah. Sesuai aturan FIFA, pemain yang diganjar kartu merah secara langsung akan melewati dua pertandingan berikutnya.
Dengan demikian, Izman akan melewati seluruh fase grup dan akan kembali bergabung bila skuat Harimau Malaya berhasil lolos penyisihan grup.
Sekadar informasi, Malaysia U-16 sendiri menghuni grup A bersama Jepang, Thailand, dan Tajikistan. Malaysia sendiri akan melakoni Thailand pada 23 September, sebelum melawan Jepang pada tanggal 26 September.
