BOLASPORT.COM - Pelatih berlisensi A AFC, Kurniawan Dwi Yulianto, mengaku siap bila ditunjuk untuk menggantikan Luis Milla sebagai pelatih timnas Indonesia di Piala AFF 2018 nanti.
Namun, ia mengatakan tidak mau berpikir terlebih dahulu tentang hal tersebut.
Menurut Kurniawan, membantu timnas Indonesia sebagai asisten pelatih saat menghadapi timnas Mauritius saja sudah membahagiakan.
Sebab, ini untuk pertama kalinya bagi Kurniawan bertindak sebagai pelatih di timnas Indonesia.
Laga uji coba yang digelar di Stadion Wibawa Mukti, Cikarang, Selasa (11/9/2018), berhasil dimenangkan timnas Indonesia dengan skor 1-0.
Kurniawan bersama Kurnia Sandy diminta untuk menjadi tim interim timnas Indonesia dengan membantu Danurwindo dan Bima Sakti.
Hal itu dikarenakan sampai saat ini Luis Milla masih belum sepakat untuk kembali membesut timnas Indonesia hingga satu tahun ke depan.
"Saya tidak berpikir untuk menjadi pelatih di Piala AFF tapi kalau ada panggilan apapun itu untuk Indonesia, saya selalu siap," kata Kurniawan.
Sebelum mengambil keputusan menjadi pelatih, Kurniawan sempat membela timnas Indonesia.
Namun, ia merasa gagal karena tidak bisa mempersembahkan prestasi untuk tim Merah Putih.
"Itu menjadi sebuah tantangan bagi saya bila ditunjuk menjadi bagian tim pelatih," kata Kurniawan.
Kurniawan juga mengaku bahagia sudah dipercaya PSSI untuk membantu timnas Indonesia meskipun hanya berperan sebagai asisten pelatih.
Pelatih yang akrab disapa Si Kurus itu juga lebih sering berdiri di pinggir lapangan untuk memberikan intruksi kepada pemainnya saat laga melawan Mauritius.
Pria berusia 42 tahun itu pun sukses mempersembahkan kemenangan untuk timnas Indonesia dengan skor 1-0 melawan Mauritius.
Apalagi ini merupakan debut pertama bagi Kurniawan di timnas Indonesia sebagai pelatih.
"Saya diminta membantu asisten pelatih saja sudah senang, apalagi bisa meraih kemenangan. Ini tidak bisa terbilang dengan kata-kata," kata Kurniawan.
