Timnas Indonesia U-19 akan tampil di Piala AFC U-18, pada 18 Oktober hingga 4 Noveber 2018 di Jakarta. Garuda Nusantara berada di Grup A bersama Uni Emirat Arab, Qatar, dan Chinese Taipei.
Tim asuhan Indra Sjafri itu saat ini sedang melakukan pemusatan latihan di Yogyakarta. Mereka masih belum berlatih bersama Egy Maulana.
Egy Maulana sendiri masih belum mengetahui bisa memperkuat Garuda Nusantara atau tidak. Semua keputusan ada di tangan pelatih Lechia Gdansk, Piotr Stokowiec.

Fokus Bersama Lechia Gdansk
"Saya tidak tahu apakah pelatih setuju atau tidak. Yang saya ketahui adalah saat ini federasi (PSSI, red) dan Lechia Gdansk sedang berkomunikasi," ujar Egy Maulana, dikutip dari media Polandia, Dziennik Baltycki.
"Soal kapan saya bisa kembali ke Indonesia, saya tidak tahu. Namun, bagi setiap pemain sepak bola, mendapatkan kesempatan untuk bermain bersama timnas Indonesia U-19adalah sebuah mimpi yang menjadi kenyataan," dia menambahkan.
Bila nanti gagal bergabung dengan Garuda Nusantara, pemain berusia 18 tahun tersebut tetap profesional. Dia ingin belajar banyak bersama Lechia Gdansk.
"Saya menyadari bahwa saya harus tetap fokus untuk beradaptasi dengan iklim Gdansk, dan beradaptasi dengan tim," kata Egy.
"Di sini, semua hal tergantung pada pelatih dalam segala keputusan. Apabila dia mengizinkan saya untuk pulang demi membantu tim nasional, saya bisa melakukannya," tambahnya.
Debut Tim Utama
Pada Minggu (9/9/2018) malam, Egy Maulana melakukan debut bersama tim utama Lechia Gdansk. Sayangnya, debut Egy Maulana berakhir tragis setelah Lechia kalah 0-1 dari Karpaty Lviv di Stadion Energa Gdansk.
"Saya ingin belajar dari pertandingan-pertandingan seperti ini, yang sangat berharga di masa depan," ujar Egy.
Laga melawan Karpaty memang hanya bertajuk persahabatan. Namun Egy ternyata tetap gugup.
Egy juga tidak menyembunyikan hal itu dari publik. "Ini adalah penampilan pertama saya bersama tim utama. Seperti yang kalian perhatikan, saya merasa gugup," kata Egy.
