Ditunjuk Sebagai Pengganti Luis Milla, Mantan Pelatih Timnas Filipina Rangkap Jabatan?

Teka-teki seputar masa depan Luis Milla di timnas Indonesia belum menemui kepastian.

Padahal, hari ini atau Sabtu (15/9/2018), merupakan deadline yang diberikan oleh Federasi Sepak Bola Indonesia (PSSI) kepada Luis Milla untuk membuat keputusan.

Akan tetapi, hingga saat ini belum ada keputusan resmi dari pelatih asal Spanyol itu.

PSSI tak tinggal diam, mereka telah mengontak mantan pelatih timnas Filipina yang kini membesut Bhayangkara FC, Simon McMenemy.

Simon McMenemy masuk menjadi kandidat pelatih timnas Indonesia jika Luis Milla akhirnya menolak kontrak baru dari PSSI.

Manajer Bhayangkara, Sumardji, membenarkan bahwa pelatih asal Skotlandia itu tengah didekati oleh PSSI.

"Ada orang PSSI yang datang tapi tak bisa saya sebutkan namanya. Ada pembicaraan berkaitan dengan Simon ya, pembicaraan baru sekedar ngobrol, diskusi-diskusi saja," kata Sumardji kepada wartawan termasuk BolaSport.com.

"Hanya saja, belum ada keputusan atau ke arah yang sudah positif ya. Cuma ngobrol-ngobrol dan melihat beberapa pilihan yang didiskusikan dengan saya," ujarnya.

Namun, jika nantinya resmi membesut Tim Garuda, Simon McMenemy diharapkan tak melepas tanggung jawabnya sebagai pelatih The Guardian.

Sumardji mengatakan, pihaknya berharap Simon bisa merangkap jabatan hingga kontraknya bersama Bhayangkara habis akhir musim ini.

"Pemain (Bhayangkara) tidak terganggu dengan isu ini, tambah senang malah. Tapi saya harap, (Simon) jangan keluar dari Bhayangkara, harapan saya seperti itu," tuturnya saat ditanya kemungkinan Simon merangkap jabatan.

"Sementara tidak rencana mencari pelatih baru buat tim kami, karena belum ada kepastian seperti apa, ini kan baru ngobrol dan diskusi saja," ucapnya.

Keinginan Bhayangkara FC mempertahankan Simon cukup beralasan. Pelatih 40 tahun itu sukses membawa Bhayangkara juara Liga 1 2017.

Adapun musim ini, Bhayangkara masih berpeluang mempertahankan gelar juara karena menduduki posisi ketiga dan hanya berjarak tiga angka dari Persib Bandung sang pemuncak klasemen sementara.

Selain Simon, kandidat pengganti Luis Milla lainnya adalah pelatih Bali United, Widodo Cahyono Putro.

Namun Widodo mengatakan bahwa saat ini dirinya sedang fokus mengejar lisensi kepelatihan AFC A Pro yang telah ia geluti selama 1,5 tahun terakhir.
